  8. Bob Hobbs has been a professional illustrator since 1974. After receiving his degree in Commercial Art 
  9. from the University of Hawaii, he did work for small newspapers, ad agencies, and local businesses in 
  10. Honolulu and his home town of Newport, Rhode Island.  He held a staff position as an illustrator for a 
  11. computer company and then the U.S. Naval War College.

  13. In 1990, Bob entered the world of science fiction, starting with a group exhibit at the Park Avenue Atrium 
  14. in New York City.  Since then, his work has appeared in more than 100 issues of 20 different publications 
  15. in the U.S. and England. These include AMAZING STORIES, TOMORROW, EXPANSE, PIRATE 
  16. WRITINGS, and HAUNTS MAGAZINE.  His work has also appeared in THE STAR TREK 
  17. CONCORDANCE, the WRITERS OF THE FUTURE fiction anthology, and in the highly acclaimed card 
  18. game LEGEND OF THE FIVE RINGS.  His work has graced the pages of work of over 90 authors, 
  19. including Ursula K. LeGuin, Alexander Jablokov, Nina Kiriki Hoffman, Russell Kirk, and Lawrence 
  20. Watt-Evans.  His work has also been exhibited at the Rhode Island School of Design Museum, the War 
  21. College Museum, and many science fiction convention art shows, including DragonCon,  Disclave, Oasis, 
  22. PhilCon, AmigoCon, and Arisia.  He is a member of the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy 
  23. Artists (ASFA).
